Malaysian Association of Wellness & Spa Social Media Group Rules & Regulations. (WHATSAPP)

    1. Respect the purpose and objective of each group.
      A “WhatsApp workgroup” shouldn’t be used to send messages or content of a personal nature and is only for Spa & Wellness Industry or related purposes. This one is simple. Treat people with respect. Don’t be rude. Be part of the community.
    2. Don’t use groups just to send memes, videos, pictures, and news, without reading and reacting to the content shared by others.
      The purpose of WhatsApp groups is to establish collective conversations with others, but when you only place content, but never read or interact, the existence of such groups loses their purpose.
    3. Never send content, information or “news” that HASN’T been verified.
      Placing content whose authenticity has not been definitively proven can be VERY dangerous and harm many people. WhatsApp is infested with misinformation and it’s better to put a stop to them than to be guilty of spreading them.
    4. If you feel uncomfortable in this group for any reason, feel free to Notify MAWSPA Headquarters or “mute” the notifications.
      We encourage you to always read and follow what appears in this group as it could be important information shared for the benefit of the industry.
    5. Before sending a complaint to a group, identify the “Honorary Secretary” and share your thoughts with him/her.
      You may contact MAWSPA Headquarters Honorary Secretary to share your complaint before posting publicly in this group.
    6. Don’t get angry if someone doesn’t respond to your messages in a group.
      No one is obliged to do so. Let the Silent Observers be. We have different personalities. Some people prefer keeping quiet whenever someone else expresses an idea that’s like theirs. Better send him/her a direct message.
    7. Before sending a video, picture, meme or any content, analyze if such material will be in the interest of most of the members of the group. Basic etiquette is required, it’s not everyday message the group
    8. When forwarding a message, picture or video and you’re choosing multiple recipients, avoid sending it to this groups.
      Since hardly the same content will be suitable or of interest to all.
    9. This is strictly not a group on politics, race or religion, kindly do not publish or share such content.
      Since hardly all will have the same religious beliefs or political preferences as there are several schools of thoughts being followed by our members with due respects to all. This is to avoid unnecessary debates.
    10. Do not publish or share any content that is violent or pornographic.
      Kindly focus on the objective of this group. It’s not possible to moderate the content members to decide to post in a group. Should a member post content that’s inappropriate or unrelated to the group, raise the issue outside the group by sending them a private message to remind them of the rules and regulations of the group; or better still by giving them a phone call.
    11. When replying to a specific comment from a person, use the “reply” function to make sense of your comment and avoid confusion.
    12. When you notice that you’re having a dialogue with a single member of the group, consider changing the conversation to direct message.
      The rest of the group may not be interested in reading your conversation with another person.
    13. Keep in mind that your words can be interpreted in multiple ways.
      Kindly use short sentences that can’t be misinterpreted. Not everyone appreciates prayers and not everyone has the same sense of humor as you.
    14. Don’t abuse emojis.
      There are some like this or that don’t require explanation, but others like this or can be interpreted in different ways and generate confusion. Keep Chat Mature.
    15. Avoid sending videos or files that are very large.
      Since nobody likes to saturate the memory of their smartphone or waste their data/internet plan.
    16. No Private Advertisement is allowed.

    17. Please Respect the members of the Group rest time.
      Kindly do not publish or share or have any conversation in this group from 10.00 pm to 07.00 am daily. Always keep in mind that a WhatsApp message will land into someone’s phone. Be sensible about the kind of messages you’ll be posting and the time you’ll be sending them.

    18. Please focus on one subject each time.
      Kindly respect others by allowing all the group members to focus on one issue at a time to avoid confusion. Please stick to the mission statement. Irrelevant content does not belong here.
    19. Do not circulate or publish the content of this group to the public.
      Kindly do not screenshot or reveal any information discussed within the group to the public as it may be confidential information. If there are members who circulate or reveal the information from the group, it will be under the responsibility of that particular member only.
    20. Don’t be a silent observer or a dormant member, When you feel like you have nothing to add to a conversation, an encouraging word such as ‘I agree with you Trump’, a thumbs up or any other emoji sign is enough to assure fellow members that you are present and that you appreciate their participation.
    21. Do not be a WhatsApp Bully
      Never make anyone feel inferior. We are all going through things, more things than people would ever like to know. So, have in mind that treating people with respect is key. If you want to take it a step further, be motivational about your communication. Encouragement and Empowerment can go a long way in a WhatsApp group. Ok not every day, but when it counts! If you suspect anyone being a bully, call them up on it separately outside of the group. if it gets worse for you, then leave the group immediately.
    22. Group Objective
      This Group is to maintain unity among paid MAWSPA Members. Kindly notify MAWSPA HQ if there is any other WhatsApp Group with the same purpose, Mission or Vision created and the contents of this Group is being shared out to that Group. “Pick up the phone or text someone privately if you need to hear from them quickly and don’t notice their response in the group chat.”
      MAWSPA Urged Members to be United and if the above happens it will be considered as not following the association Objectives.
